What Are Some Agricultural Machinery And Equipment?

Jul 09, 2025

Agricultural machinery and equipment include: internal combustion engines, tillers, land leveling machines, subsoilers, seed drills, threshers, water pumps, disc plows, transplanters, and robotic weeders.

Internal combustion engines

An internal combustion engine directly burns fuels such as gasoline and uses the resulting combustion gases to generate mechanical work.

Tilling machines

Tilling machines, also known as miniature tillers, consist of a frame with a power unit attached to it, a miniature reduction gearbox connected to the power unit, and a drive shaft connected to the miniature reduction gearbox. An output shaft is connected to the bottom end of the frame, a turbine is mounted on the drive shaft, and a worm gear is mated to the output shaft. Rotary tilling tools are mounted on one or both ends of the output shaft and connected to the output shaft via set screws.

Land leveling machines

Agricultural graders are farmland construction machines used for leveling farmland. They can also be used for tasks such as building terraces, leveling roads, and grading fields.

Subsoiler

A subsoiler is a type of tillage machine used with a high-horsepower tractor, primarily used for mechanized deep soil tillage between rows or across the entire field.

Seeder

A seed drill is a planting machine used to sow crop seeds. It is used for seeding a specific type of crop and is often named after the crop, such as a grain drill, corn seed drill, cotton seed drill, or forage spreader.

Thresher

A thresher is a harvesting machine that separates crop grains from their stalks, primarily for harvesting grains.

Pump

A pump, also known as a "water pump," is a centrifugal water pump that uses atmospheric pressure to lift water from a low level to a higher level. It consists of a pump, a power unit, and a transmission.

Disc Plow

A disc plow is a machine used for tilling land. It's typically used in conjunction with a fully-mounted tractor. It's primarily used for tilling complex fields with soil debris, such as bricks and stone fragments. It features easy adjustment, simplicity, and durability.

Transplanter

A transplanter consists of independent planting units, each driven by its own ground wheel. This allows it to be used with tractors of varying sizes, creating two- to six-row transplanters. It features a modular design and a rotary cup feeder.

Robot Weeder

An intelligent weeder robot is an AI-powered weeder that can perform targeted spraying and precisely remove weeds, reducing unnecessary pesticide waste and pollution. It reduces the need for large-scale pesticide spraying, thus avoiding wasted pesticides and excessive residue on crops and in the soil.
